[Facts] Kryzia
Hello! I'm wondering about the meaning of Kryzia (f) = pronounced it KRITZ-ya. It could be Italian...
Replies
It can't be Italian, because the Italian alphabet doesn't include K or Y. But it could be a variant of the Polish nickname Krysia.
Well, it can't be Italian because there is no K or Y in the Italian alphabet. Thus, she's wrong.
actually
While indeed there's no K or Y in the Italian alphabet that doesn't stop some people from using sometimes names, probably of foreign derivation, that might contain these letters (I've come across a couple of Ylenia), just as there are some words borrowed from other languages but that are now in Italian dictionaries, that contain k's or y's (such as knock-out or yacht).
This said, you're right that Kryzia isn't an Italian name but she could still be Italian. Krizia (in this spelling) is an Italian fashion brand.

Thank you! How do you pronounce Krizia (the fashion brand)?

Okay, I believe you, thanks for letting me know. I just thought she was right as I believe her background is Italian.
