[Opinions] Maddox?
Yes, I started liking it after seeing it so often, thanks to Angelina Jolie.I know that pop culture is skyrocketing Maddox through the Top 1000, but I want to get some real life opinions.Aside from Angelina Jolie, and obviously, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, what do you think of? What image does it produce? What kind of person do you see? Also, I say ma-ducks. But because of the O, I want to say ma-docks. How do you pronounce it? Is there a huge difference between the pronunciations that I said? Finally, do Casey & Maddox sound like brothers? Thanks in advance!

hmmm,I don't hate it, but Casey and Maddox don't sound like brother's either. If I saw it as a sib set I would think Casey was honoring and Maddox was the trendy name that couple really likes.

Personally I think that Angelina Jolie has pretty good taste in names :) I like Maddox a lot. I see a kind of rough and tumble boy rather than a mild mannered on. I say it ma-ducks. I really have to try to say it the other way, too much thinking.Casey and Maddox definitely sound like brothers

Definitely ducks, not docks! All I think of, no matter how many celebs use it for their infants, is an insane, castrated bull.

Honestly, I can't get over the visual of it- the fact that it looks like "mad ox." If it weren't for that, I would probably like it. But that's just my own weird thing. I do like Madoc.I say Maddox the way you do. I think Casey and Maddox sound like brothers and go well together.

It's spunky, but I get an old school English aristocrat vibe, which I love. mad-ex is how I say it. It' a nice name, I like it - but I much prefer Madoc:) Casey and Maddox - I don't get that old-school vibe I get with Maddox, so for me they don't match.

I like Madoc, but not Maddox. To me Maddox seems more trendy and modern, where Madoc is more strong and historical without being stuffy or uncool.I say ma-docks, but most people I know say ma-ducks.Casey and Maddox could be brothers.

I really love this name, and think it's very cool.
Not keen on casey for a boy though.

I really like Maddox, I think of a musician with dark hair and light eyes. A nice person with a tough exterior.
I pronounce it MAD-ux
Casey and Maddox sound great

I too say ma-ducks.Personally I love this name. It's unusual without being over the top, masculine without being overly macho, and I could just as easily see it on someone's stationary as I could the cover of Rolling Stone. No matter what I see a Maddox as a very strong personality, certainly not someone to be triffled with. Maddox and Casey make great brothers; couple of rouges. If you are worried about the Jolie-Pitt association Madoc is a fantastic alternative. Otherwise I really do love Maddox.

Love it.Honestly, who cares if it was used by Angelina Jolie? I think it's a good name, solid and modern enough without being too trendy. I picture it on an intelligent, wise-cracking kid who marches to the beat of his own drummer.Casey and Maddox make good brothers, IMO. The names kind of match, in a weird way.

Haha. I'm not at all concerned about where I found a name. I love Harlow too. I might not have liked them without the exposure, but hey - what can you do?I find that Casey really is his own dude, and has been from the moment he was born. Maybe even before that, when he amazed my nurses and caregivers during pregnancy with his energy, despite how small he was. When I wrote Casey & Maddox together, I thought that as different as they were, they look really good together, and not overly matchy matchy. I like a lot of other C names, but with my name also being a C name, I don't want to get stuck in C's. I like that both are recognizable, but I doubt that Casey and Maddox - should this be the name of #2 - would have another classmate with those names, especially in our area.
