I heard a birth announcement recently: Leah Gabrielle. I think the combo is gorgeous, and I find Leah to be an appealing name that generally goes with anything, so it's no surprised that it has surged in popularity recently.

I try to like Leah. It's sweet, simple, quietly pretty, and has such a long history. All good things, but...I just don't feel it. I think part of what holds me back from liking the name is that I find the biblical Leah's story so sad. You can't help but pity her: married off to a man who loved and desired her sister instead and had to be tricked into taking her? I don't care how many sons she was blessed with; a lifetime watching Jacob and Rachel making kissy faces at each other had to hurt. Depressing stuff. I think Leah is best with a longer mn:
Leah Catherine
Leah Caroline
Leah Henrietta
Leah Shoshana
Leah Jessamine

It sounds ok, but I don't like the meaning.

I love it! It's one of my favourite names. My favourite combos is Leah Juliet. :)

I like it, even though it's a bit expected and common. I also like Lea pronounced the same way, sometimes even more than Leah.

I really really like Leah. I would strongly consider it for a second daughter except that my first daughter is Abigail and I think Abigail & Leah are too Biblical for me as sisters. When I mentioned Leah to DH, he said he could never use it because Amber on Teen Mom named her daughter Leah, and he hates Amber. Leah Matilda

I used to love it before I realized that most people use the LEE-uh pronunciation rather then Hebrew-leaning pronunciation of LAY-uh that I'm so used to.

It's pretty and I like it, but I'm beginning to find it a little bland. I wish it weren't so popular.

It's a little bland. I like it, but I really don't like the 'H' on the end. I refer Lia or Lea.

It's okay. It makes me mad when people think my middle name (Leigha) is pronounced like it though, I prefer LAY-uh than LEE-uh. The 'Lee' part bothers me somewhat for no reason at all.
