Clemency is one of the very few virtue names I enjoy, and I even like Clemmie.I gretly prefer it to Clemence, because of the pronunciation issues - there's no doubt about Clemency! And I don't enjoy many spondees ...

Clemence, no question. Clemency is something the government grants to prisoners. I can never see it as a person's name. Clemence, on the other hand, is an elegant, feminine name. I adore Clemence. It may sound odd that one letter / sound can make such a difference to anyone. Perhaps it's because I work in the criminal justice field. Clemency carries a completely different vibe for me.

Clemency makes me think of criminals and the judicial system, so I prefer Clemence. I don't like either of them as much as I do Clement for a boy and Mercy for a girl, however.

I had a great uncle Clement. I usually don't like family names, but there are a few from older generations that really hold a special place in my heart and this is one of them.I think I like the feminine versions better (if I were ever to honor the name, it'd be on a daughter). I like Clemence, and although I don't mind Clemency, I for some reason, dislike -y names as full names, as they seem nn-y to me. Just me being weird...

I like Clemency for a girl and Clemence for a boy. I know Clemence is listed as a female name, but it seems masculine to me, probably because of its similarity to Clarence.

I prefer Clemency, whose lacy, upper-crust British air tickles me, but the gentler and kindlier Clemence also appeals to me.

There's a poster with a daughter called Clemence, and every time I see it in her sig, I think how nice it is. Clemency is nice too - very pretty and fresh, and they're both less fruity than Clementine. I can't choose, I like them both.

For some reason there's always been something attractive about them to me. Not sure what it is. Just the look and the sound and the orangey gold feel of them, perhaps.I'm not sure which I'd prefer of those two. They're pretty different so it would depend on my mood I guess. Clemence feels more sophisticated, elegant, and regal. Clemency feels more simple and Puritan.
