It's a very common name in Utah (from the Book of Mormon) as long as it's spelled Ammon. The youngest son of a friend was given that name. When she first told me, I was confused because I figured it was an Egyptian-based name (like Amon-Ra etc.) and that just didn't seem to fit in with all the other boys.
