[Opinions] Cleo
Fell in love with Cleo. Too short or nicknamey? Too close to popular Chloe? Do you prefer Cleo or Chloe?

I love the name Cleo! I know a very nice girl named Cleo who likes the same obscure sci-fi shows as me, so that probably helps.I much prefer Cleo to Chloe. Chloe is way too popular, plus I don't really like the sound of it.

Love the name Cleo and would consider using it in the future. DH has almost given in with the whole naming process, so you never know! I think it's very pretty, reminds me of the 1920's/1930's for some reason and it's easy for people to spell and pronounce! Chloe I also love and some days might prefer, but it's far too popular here in Australia and DH is not a fan anyway.

Oh, I love Cleo! It's quite versatile -- I envision both a reserved, bookish brunette and a jaunty, vivacious redhead (just to mention two characterizations) when I think of the name. I do prefer Clio, though, because I enjoy the gravitas that the elevated classical association (Greek muse of history) lends the name. I vastly prefer both Cleo and Clio to Chloe, which needs to be put to rest.

I think of cats, Clifford the Big, Red, Dog's poodle friend, and TV psychics when I see Cleo. I don't think I'll ever be a fan, but it's not too short or nicknamey to be used. I think it could end up mistaken for Chloe sometimes, just because there are so many Chloes with so many spellings around. I prefer Chloe despite not liking it much, either. I second Thetxbelle's recommendation: Clea is so pretty and almost never seen. I have the same response to Clio as you!

I like Cleo a lot. It's spunky and I never hear it used. I far prefer it to Chloe.

Aw, it's totally cute. I like both of them. Cleo's definitely fresher, though.

Love it!!!I love Cleo, though when I tell people it either reminds them of a cat they once knew or Miss Cleo of the Psychic Friends Network fame. It's still in my top 10!!!Chloe is kind of meh.

LOVELOVE CLEOMy friend says it's a cow name. I don't get that. When I was changing my name I had it narrowed down to Chloe and Clio. I didn't think I could pull Clio off - it's just so cool and artsy and sleek and I'm not really any of those things no matter how hard I may wish I was. so I picked Chloe... but I would name a daughter Cleo or Clio. Yeah, it's similar, maybe too similar. But I don't really care.I don't find Cleo too nicknamey at all.

Too cat-name for me. As is Chloe, actually. Everybody seems to know a cat named Chloe or Cleo, just as everybody seems to know a dog named Bailey.

I definitely prefer Cleo :) much better than Chloe :) you could spell it 'Clio' if you didnt want it to look too much like Chloe..

I also prefer Clea. Cleo is cute, but it's hard not to think of it as a cat name. In general, I don't think that Cleo is too close to Chloe, but as siblings, yes, I find them too close, but I take it that you're asking in a more general sense.

I will say, I adamantly prefer ClioIt's just better to me. Have you considered it? It's so 1920s-chic to me.

I don't like this spelling, because (and this is terrible of me and shows how much in the gutter my mind really is) it reminds me of a certain female body part, because it is only one letter away from it.

My car is a Renault Clio, so I find it a little hard to take seriously as a name. I do think it might get confused with Chloe, especially since weird spellings like Cloe and Kloe are around now. I think I prefer Chloe.
