[Opinions] Genevieve or Guinevere?
Which do you choose? I like both of these names a lot. It's hard to say which is my favorite. I guess Guinevere. I was wondering which one is more liked on this site.

Genevieve.I've never been a Guinevere fan. It's too drippy and medieval for my taste.

Definitely Genevieve. I should like Guinevere since I like many Welsh names, however, there's something about the 'vere' sound that seems hard to me. It also reminds me of the word, 'severe.'

Guineverethe nn "Gwen/Guin/Gwyn" is one of my absolute favorites. Vera is beautiful too. Genevieve I like as well but my love of "Gwen" sways my opinion:)

GuinevereGuinevere has a neat sound-- it's stately but not stuffy, girly but not frilly, and I guess it just has the type of literary vibe I like. The "Guin" part is mostly what I like about this name. It could have the nn's Guin or Vera.
Genevieve is nms. I think it's too frilly and a bit too dense, if that makes sense. There's a lot of mass in one place with this name. There are more vowels in Guinevere, which makes it a bit lighter. It still isn't a "light" name (most names with G's and V's in them are a bit heavy to me), but it holds up well on its own. Genevieve is too heavy and too opaque. It's like an awkward skirt too laden down with burgundy frills and drapes of fabric.

I love the sound of Guinevere. :) Genevieve is easier if you just like going with what people are comfortable hearing, bug goodness, I'd love to meet a little Guinevere.

Can I choose Guenièvre?Oh, hard. I love them both. I do really like Guenièvre.I think I'd choose Guinevere given the choice of the two. But maybe Genevieve on another day.

I prefer Guinevere, for I've grown tired of Genevieve.

I definitely prefer Guinevere. Genevieve feels like it's "trying" to be French, and is actually more common than a lot of people think. Guinevere is an elegant yet strong name, with a lot of history, and you can get the cute nickname Guin / Gwyn / Gwen out of it.
