Help[Opinions] Nickname for Victoria
We're pretty well accustomed to Vickie and Torey, various spellings ad lib. But yesterday I found a new one: there's a newly appointed national Police Commissioner here in South Africa, first woman to hold the position, who is usually known as Ria; it turns out that she's actually a Victoria.
Ria is widely used here as a nn for Maria, often in compound forms (Rialette, a merger of Maria and Aletta, is very familiar) but that's an Afrikaans habit and the new Commissioner isn't Afrikaans.

I like Tora for Victoria. Ria reminds me of the bird Rhea.

I don't like it. Rhea is an okay name, but Ria for Victoria is kind of like Sha for Natasha or Tee for Felicity.

I like Ria as a nn for Victoria (and Maria). I don't like Vicky, Tori, etc. The only other nn I like for Victoria is probably Vi or just V.

Ria definitely works. I don't really care for the sound of it, but I prefer it to Vicky/Vicki/Vickey, etc.
I like Tori/Torie even though some people have said that they find it dated. I also like Toria, which I find pretty.

It's okay. I don't care for the sound of it; compared to similar names like Lia, Mia, or Nia, Ria is awkward to me. That said, I hate Vic, Vicky, and Tori enough that Ria is probably the best nn for Victoria I've seen.

My late mother-in-law (I never knew her, she died young) was named Victoria, she was always called Victorine. That's perhaps more an affectionate varient than a nick name...
I should maybe add that she was French-speaking.
My own daughter has Victoria as her middle name, honouring her Grandmother. But, as that's a middle name, it's rarely used.

My daughter, who is named Victoria nn Torrie, has an online friend, also named Victoria, whose nickname is Ria. I first heard of her about six or so months ago. I hadn't heard of that nickname before. But I don't like Ria. I really don't. I don't have a problem with Vicky, but I think Ria is terrible. Makes me think of diarrhea. I think it's a crime to take a beautiful name like Victoria and then use Ria as a nickname.
