[Opinions] Jonah or Jonas
I like both. My DH isn't as fond of Jonah. We both really like the character of Jonas from The Giver by Lois Lowry. So it tends to have the winning edge. Which do you prefer?Edited:spelling

I definitely prefer Jonah! It's my third favorite boy name and I love Henry as the middle name. Also, I love the book The Giver!

Both, but..I prefer the sound of Jonah more but dislike its Biblical association. Therefore, I'd choose Jonas.

This is how my husband feels. I think that is what makes the decision more difficult for him.

I prefer Jonah. I don't know why I'm not so fond of boys names ending in -as.

I prefer Jonah, but if Jonas has more personal meaning to you (great book, by the way) then I'd go with that one.

Jonas, because I like -as better than -ah.

Hm, I like both, actually. I think, barring associations, I'd rank Jonas slightly higher. If you both like Jonas, and the Jonas Brothers association doesn't phase you, then go for that.

Jonah, only because the association with The Jonas Brothers is too strong for me.

We've gotten the Jonas bros thing before with our little Jonas, mostly from middle age people. The generation older than that always references Jonas Salk! 20's and teens tend to reference The Giver. Young kids just accept it as a name and move on. Never had kid teasing (so far).

I prefer Jonah personally, however since you both seem to like Jonas, that seems the obvious choice for you
