[Opinions] Lucinda
Lucinda was one of my favorites when I was a teenager. I had forgotten about it a little bit after I fell in love with Lucille but I was just reminded of it again. Do you prefer Lucille or Lucinda? I'm not that fond of Lucy and especially not Cindy. I think Cindy could easily be avoided, I'm not as sure about Lucy. I'd definitely always call her by her full name but I guess I wouldn't mind so much if she decided she wanted to go by Lucy as I don't hate it. I'd prefer it spelled Lucie as a nickname for Lucinda, though. Just as I prefer Lillie over Lily as a nickname for Lillian even though I slightly prefer Lily on its own.Any thoughts? And what is your favorite Luci-name in general? (Lucy, Lucie, Lucia etc).

I love Lucinda; Lucy and Lucinda are pretty much tied as my favorite "Luc" names for girls. The prominent "eel" sound of Lucille lessens my enjoyment of that particular form, but I love "Luc" names in general. Personally, I would probably use "Luc"/"Luce" ("loos") as a nickname, but think Lucy/Lucie would be the most likely nickname generated by others. "Lulu" would be cute. "Lindy" or "Linda" would work, but they lose touch with the "light" for me, as does Cindy, so I wouldn't prefer them.

I LOVE the name Lucy and both Lucinda and Lucille are nice too. I'd personally just use Lucy though.

Oh, I love Lucinda! It's so brassy and romantic. I love Lucille, too, but I prefer Lucile.

Lucinda is lovely. It's my favorite Luci- name. If you introduce your daughter as Lucinda, most people will probably just call her by Lucinda.

I like Lucinda. It has a soft and antique-y sort of feel without being super frilly or having that "trying too hard" retro ugliness. It has the same feel to me as Evelyn, Constance, Eleanor, or Rosamund, for example. Like a pretty name you would have found not too far back on the family tree. I don't care for Lucille. The -ille ending in general doesn't grab me. Lucy/Lucie seems like it would be the default nickname more than Cindy. I like it. It's not one of my personal favorites but it's cute and would be a natural way to shorten Lucinda.

I love the sound and look of Lucinda. It's elegant without being super frilly. It's not something I'd use as a FN, but I like it in theory or as a MN. I'm not a fan of Lucille at all. I agree you'd have a hard time avoiding the nickname Lucy, though. But given the spelling of Lucinda, I think it'd be easier to spell it your preferred way of Lucie. Other nicknames: Lulu or Lou? My favorite Luci name is plain old Lucy. I love the "light" meaning for all of them.

I like Lucinda - I would probably say it is my second favourite Luci- name after Lucia. Personally I don't much like Lucie either, but I really love Luce, which would be Lucia's often nickname. I prefer Lucinda over Lucille, but Lucia overall :)

I think Lucinda sounds a bit mean. And I have troubles seeing it on a child.
What about Lucia as a nickname for it though? Or just Luc, Luce ?
I'm not crazy about Luc- names for girls, but I think my favorites are Lucina and Lucy.

I guess I just don't care much for any possible nicknames for it. Lucie isn't bad, the others appeal to me even less. Luz might be kind of cute but a bit far fetched for my tastes. But Lucina is awesome! Thanks!
