I have always thought it was quite mannish on women and girls and felt that its use as a girl name was just a fad - now it's a totally dated name on a woman, but still classic on a man. Doesn't matter how many I meet, it's a boy name. Robin Hood, Christopher Robin, Batman & Robin. Leach, Hitchcock, Cousins, Cook, Williams. I like it as a boy name and would use it (husband didn't like it though, and it doesn't go well with our surname).
