Just picking out one from the list, Diamond. I wonder why it wasn't popular? Other gem-stones are, Ruby,Opal, even Crystal,-you'd think people would opt for the more precious stone.
I did once read a boarding school story, written, I think, in the 1920s or '30s, which featured two girls, Diamond and Crystal;Diamond being the leader, and Crystal the follower.
I do note Neva also, I did once know a girl named Neva, was a t a summer camp with her.
