[Opinions] Wdyto Ansel?
Wdyto Ansel as a boy's middle name? How does it go with Galilee and Roland in a 3 name combo (and what order sounds best)? -------------------

I like it. I think Ansel Galilee Roland has the best flow.

I like it a lot! For first or middle. I think Ansel Roland's great. For me, Ansel Roland Galilee is a lot of name, but it's still my favorite three name combo. If Ansel has to be a middle name then Roland Ansel Galilee has a good flow.

Thanks :)

I like Ansel very much. I associate it strongly with Ansel Adams, so It is a name ithat makes me wonder if the parents have a love of photography. The one little Ansel I know is the son of a photographer who chose it for that reason. I prefer Ansel Roland Galilee or Roland Galilee Ansel.

While I wouldn't choose the name for Ansel Adamd, I wouldn't be worried that people would assume it, either. It's far from being a bad association.
Thank you.

I feel kind of neutral. It's unexpected, which I like but I'm not in love with it. I think I would like it for someone else's child though.
If only based on flow, I would go with Ansel Roland Galilee. I quite like that combo actually.

Thanks. I do like the sound of Ansel Roland, but I don't care for Ansel as a fn.

Ansel isn't my favorite name, but it's all right. For a combo, Galilee Ansel Roland sounds best to me.

Ooo, cool. I gotta say, I am always intrigued to hear what you will come up with next. :)Galilee Ansel makes for "Leanne" in the middle. So I'd avoid that.
Roland Ansel is okay, but they kind of smoosh together a bit like "danzle". Not a deal breaker though. My first pick based on flow would be Ansel Galillee Roland. But I really really like Galilee in your family, so I'd advocate for Galilee Roland Ansel. So handsome. Not sure I replied to your last one in time to get a response. Is Galilee Roland honouring Gilliland? I feel like that was your maiden name or something.

Yes, my maiden name is Gilliland. I'd like to use Gilliland in a combo, but not sure that'll happen. Galilee Roland is more for my middle name (Leigh) and my grandpa's middle name (Leland), though the similarity to Gilliland is definitely a plus. Galilee itself is for the biblical reference, as well, and Roland is from Stephen King's Dark Tower series. (In case you're wondering, I really like Hosanna Lileas Rain for a girl, though I'm fairly confident dh won't go for it)Thanks!

I love Hosanna so so much, but my husband wouldn't go for it either. :)Yeah, I was definitely seeing Gilliland in Galilee Roland, but honouring Leigh and Leland totally works too. And the Biblical reference is nice too. You're not pregnant are you?

6 weeks and praying hard. The last two pregnancies I miscarried at 8-9 weeks. I am soooooooo sooooooo soooooo nauseous this pregnancy, though, so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

I knew you had miscarried once. But twice? Man, that's so tough. I will pray for you and baby too.
vote up1
Yeah. Almost exactly a year apart. Thank you for the prayers. Are you on fb?
vote up1
No, I'm not on Facebook. Do you have a blog or anything like that?
vote up1
No, sure don't. But I have started reading yours :)

I like it as a first name, if only for Ansel Adams. But, if you're wanting to use it as a middle name, I would go with...Roland Galilee Ansel. I think that has the best flow, and I'm all about flow when it comes to combos.

I do like the flow of that. Thank you.

I've always liked Ansel and also Anselm. I like the combo Roland Ansel Galilee the best, because I'm fond of Roland as a name and think it should get used as a first name more often! :) Galilee Ansel Roland is also great though!

Thanks. Dh loves Roland, but I just can't picture a little boy Roland. Also, I'm really hoping to swing Galilee nn Gil.

But you could call him Rollie (to sound like Raleigh, not like Roly otherwise he'd probably get called Roly-Poly)! :)

I used to HATE Roly, but it's kinda growing on me. Roly Haston? (Haston with a long A sound)

I like it, but I prefer Anselm. Ansel on its own reminds me of Hansel a great deal, ala Hansel and Gretel. However, I'm certainly far from opposed to it as a middle name. Roland Galilee Ansel (or if I had my way, Roland Galilee Anselm) would definitely be an interesting and rather handsome combo. I really do like it!

The Hansel association is the one thing keeping me from loving the name. I didn't want to say anything in the op to influence anyone, but I do hear "Hansel."
My reason for not going for Anselm, though, is that even though it's a stretch, I'd use Ansel as a smushing of sorts between Ann & Rachel.

It just makes me giggle, because: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AnsellI realise this won't be a problem in the US, but it's enough to do it in for me.

One of our friends said the name Magnus (one of dh's top 3) reminded her of Magnum condoms. Now, wouldn't Magnus Ansel be an ideal combo!
