[Opinions] Theo/Bartholomew
Could Theo be a nickname for Bartholomew?? Plus what is the best spelling of Bartholomew?~Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present.~

No, as there's no 'Theo' element in the name

Bartholomew would have been the name of my dh's sister had she been a boy. It's nice enough though I've never seen another spelling for it. While I like Theo (as a nn), it doesn't seem to flow organically from Bartholomew. Other than the shared th, I don't really get it.

No. That is too far a leap to be logical to me.Bartholomew has other spelling options? I think that is the best one.Nicknames:
Bart
Barty
Barto
Barth
Bartho
Bolo
Tholo
Lomy
Barlo

Is there another spelling of Bartholomew? Assuming you want the pronunciation bahr-THAHL-eh-MYOO this is the only spelling that makes sense. I right away understood where you got Theo from in Bartholomew. I don't mind nicknames that aren't totally typical.

No, I don't think so.
I think Bartholomew is the best spelling.

It could work. Funny I never thought of that before. I like Bartholomew, but I'd never use it because I hate Bart. Still, it would be hard to avoid.
Personally I prefer Bartholomeus over Bartholomew, but Bartholomew is fine.

I think it could work. They both have similar sounds. And I've always thought Batholomew was the only spelling, but I may be mistaken. I love Bartholomew!
