I like Caleb a lot. I think it's handsome. It's also my cousin's son's name so I can't use it. I'm not sure I like it enough to use anyway but that usage keeps me from thinking about it often.

It looks and sounds utterly strange to me. I once knew a boy named Caleb and he was total jerk so I've never liked it. It starts out sounding almost feminine and and the -leb ending makes me think of a peg leg pirate.

It's ok I guess.

I strongly dislike Caleb. It sounds dopey and weak to me. I feel the same about Gabriel. Maybe I just don't like the letter B in boys names.

It's okay, but I'd want to use the nickname Cal, and Cal is more intuitive as a nickname for Calvin than it is for Caleb, and I like Calvin more anyway, so I'd never use Caleb.

I don't like it. It's kind of clumsy.

I really like it. Caleb makes me picture someone a little quiet but with a lot of friends due to his good sense of humor and big heart. It moves in and out of my top 10.I don't know if it's because of the B ending, the biblical connection, the meaning, or some combo thereof, but it's not usually well received here at BtN.

I've always been fond of the name Caleb. Very approachable and friendly sound.

Don´t like this less popular biblical name, neither Kaleb, Kalep, Kalev, least of all Chaleb.
The whole nine yards, would favor the way more popular as Noah, Joshua or Elijah.
So sorry, as a matter of fact I´m not really a fan of biblical names, acutally not at all, wherever the may originate. (Greek, Hebrew or Latin)

I hate it.I have no idea why it's so popular. It's an ugly name to me.

agreeexcept I'm not surprised it's popular. Lots of ugly names are.

I agree, i think it's wildly unappealing.

Is it that popular? I have never met a Caleb.
vote up1
It ranks at 35.So yes, it's popular - and easy to check.
vote up1
Well duh. Just saying that I have never met nor hear that name..

You asked "is it that popular?"
vote up1

Yeah, it was sort of rude.

I like Caleb, but I *will* say that Calvin is much better. What do you think of Calvin?

I love Calvin. It's sweet.Part of the reason I don't like Caleb is my nephew is a brat. I remember giving him a birthday gift. He opened, announced he didn't like it and threw it. His mom brushed it off by saying it was "Just Caleb." At the same time if her daughters step out of line she's on them in a flash.

I like it. I don't think it's a favorite here, but it's friendly and warm, IMO.
