[Opinions] Re: Coraline
I haven't seen the movie, but I've heard that Neil Gaiman wrote Coraline as a typo for Caroline, and liked the look of it. Does that mean that Coraline rhymes with Caroline? Or is it Coraleen? It makes me think of a textile, perhaps dress material or curtaining. I far prefer either Caroline or Coralie.Georgiana is inconveniently long, however it's pronounced. Lots of people seem to say it like jorJANEa, which makes no sense. Georgina is much less fussy; I could see Georgina Coralie, or Coralie Georgina, or the same but with Caroline instead of Coralie. Not much help, I'm afraid!
