I like it a lot. It feels fancy, but it's easy to say and spell, and it's unusual enough here to be interesting without being too unfamiliar.

I love it. One of my favorites when I was little. I think of an intelligent, beautiful dark-haired girl/woman -- and indeed all the Carmens I've known have fit that description. The only issue I see is I sometimes fixate on how it is the words Car + men... boo.

I always liked this name. It sounds so exotic yet familiar all at the same time.

I like it. It's elegant and sophisticated and sort of exotically pretty.I went to school with a Carmen and with another girl who now has a daughter named Carmen (but spelled creatively). I think it's a nice name on any age.

Carmen is simply stunning. It's been used in my family a fair bit, but that won't stop me - it's still one of my top picks if I ever have a daughter, and one of my most constant favourites. It's strong, feminine but not girly, beautiful but not frilly, and classic but not dated.Specifically in the UK, it's very rare. It's not so rare elsewhere, part of my family is South American, so I know it's not rare *there*, of course, but I think I've heard of or come across 2 or so Carmens in my life living here. Anyway, it's a pretty name which I think has a lot of character, and being less common here just makes me like it more. It's also a name which I really struggle to find a good middle name for. I think it needs an equally strong middle name, but as I live in a culture where Carmen is unusual, I have to strike a balance between 'strong', 'unusual names I like' and 'not too strong/exotic/unusual', which is difficult.

It's alright but nothing incredible. I once knew an old dog named that.

I know that it is used in many countries but to me there is something very Spanish about it. I like many Spanish names but Carmen is one of those really overused, boring, bland Spanish names that you see everywhere. Kind of like Juan or José or something like that. I just find it boring. I also don't like the 'car men' thing. I know several very lovely women named Carmen so I have nice associations with it but it just seems like one of those crazy common Spanish names and I would prefer something about more unusual and interesting.
