Hi !!!It is a Greek and Roman name which is both one of the Pleiades Stars and the Roman goddess of spring.Currently I find it beautiful!!WDYT?P.S. when I try to write it in my signature it creaate a wrong link with the French variant. How can I put the link of Maia (2) simply writing "Maia" in my signature?

I used to really dislike Maia and Maya mainly because I never knew whether to pronounce them MY-ah or MAY-ah. Now I've trained my brain to recognise both spellings as MY-ah which it what I prefer and I'm much more content with the names. So content as it happens that Maia is on my long list for girls and featured fleetingly in my Top Ten.I still like it... maybe as a middle name one day if I have a lot of daughters...

I like Maia too - much nicer than May, which is a family name, but if I had enough daughters I'd have used Maia rather than May. Maia, or Mabel. That could work well.

I like it -- this spelling/origin only. Beautiful name.

I like Maia. It is cute and yet works well on an adult. I know a little girl Matilda Maia "Tildy".

I like Maia!I knew a Maja when I was young (she was from Germany) and I've liked the name ever since. I like it spelled either Maia or Maja. I like Maya less because it just makes me think of the tribe. That's weird about the link ... I don't know what to do other than link directly - http://www.behindthename.com/name/maia-2.

I like Maia very much, but I prefer Maya. "aia" looks a bit strange to me.

The first time I heard this name was on a friend in college (that includes other spelling variants). I thought it was very beautiful, and it was perfectly elegant with her middle name, Catherine. Even though other spellings have become trendy (supposedly, I've still only ever met one kid one of any spelling), this one is still my favorite. Although I do quite like Maiya, which is how another friend spells it. I think it's more earthy, like her! :)
