I love it! It seems staid, but there's a subtle romanticism there that greatly appeals to me.

I like the name Gerard. It a name you don't hear often(except older People but not younger )

Love it. I think it is classy, not overly common, yet easy to spell and pronounce.
It's on our top list for boys. We would have named Clarisse Gerard had she been a boy (that or Evren).
My only concern was nicknames. I do not like Gerry at all, but I think Gerard is solid enough that it does not need one.

I am opposite. Much prefer the stress on the second syllable.

I suppose it depends on what you (and I) grew up hearing. Because both are widely used. Unlike friends of my mother's, who named their daughter Fiona but pronounced it FIE Oh na. Toe-curlingly awful!
