I like Alex. I like it for both genders, but much prefer for a boy. It's OK as a full name, but I like it the most as a nickname from Alexander, but still it's a very strong, masculine and, I'd say, youthful, name for a man. It goes well for girls on its own too. I think it isn't very girly, but not also like unfeminine, sort of sporty name, I'd say. And it doesn't have as much of this sporty feel when it is a diminutive of something, like Alexandra or Alexandria, well, maybe has a bit as a nn of Alexis.

I love it for a girl and boy

I'm not a huge fan. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with it but maybe that's part of the problem. It doesn't make me feel anything. It's just a bit "meh" unfortunately.I greatly prefer Lexa for a girl, on it's own, not as a nickname.
And Alexei or Aleksi for a boy - although this is more GP because I don't really have the heritage to justify using it...

it's not bad on it's own at all. i like how it's become gender neutral. it's just overused so lost some of it's....zest for me lmao.i prefer it way more on a girl than a guy. on guys, Alex alone sounds...suspicious lol just because of those i've met. though Lex is much worse.my favorite form for a guy is probably Alexandru, and i'd use it if it wouldn't just get shortened to Alex.

Not by itself, sorry.

I definitely don't like it as a name on its own. As a nickname for Alexander, I like it, but it's been overused.

I think Alex is good as a nickname for Alexander, but I'm not too sure about its use by itself.

I prefer Alec for a boy or Alix for a girl. I like to hear Alex used as it's spunky and classic at the same time, people usually assume it's short for something though.
