I don't like it, just because I don't like how it sounds. I hear "delayed" and "addle" and "laid."
I would like Adelaida, Ad-uh-LIE-duh. And I love Ada.
The only Addie name that I don't dislike, is Adelina.... because it doesn't have the addle sound.
Adelaide sounds antique to me, so more like a fad-antique name, like Penelope, Hazel, Mabel - not popular enough to become really dated.
But I do think the trend for Addie names is probably starting its decline.
