The Greek word for “princess” is πριγκίπισσα (prinkipissa), not “vasileia”. I think you’re confusing it with the Greek word for “queen”, which is βασίλισσα (vasilissa). It’s much more likely that he just used the Biblical Greek form of Leah.I think Padmé is probably a French-style variation of Padma, and Anakin is based off of Ken Annakin’s surname.

Wait, actually: “vasileia” DOES coincide with the Greek word for “kingship/reign”, which is βασιλεία (vasileia). So, you could be partially right.

Lucas has stated that he didn't name Anakin after his friend. Which is kind of weird but I guess there must be another source. Thanks for your reply!
