I like it better with an e on the end. Kaye as a nn for Katherine or Katharine.

From time to time I'm hit by a wave of appreciation for this name. It's short, simple and there's something endearing about it.A while back I had the thought of a sister set Kay and Kit so remembering that when seeing the topic and then seeing your posting name made me smile.

I’ve always loved it as a masculine name *hides* Handsome, strong, and I love the impact of just three letters.

I prefer the Kaye spelling. Full disclosure, that is my middle name. For most of my life, it seemed so generic as a middle name, I hated it. But I was thankful for that E at the end, which made it stand out at least marginally. Now that Kay/Kaye has faded in popularity as a middle name, I've gained a new appreciation. I even like it as a first name now and prefer it to the currently overused Kate.

I prefer Kay as middle name, or a nickname for Kayla and Karen. Kay by itself as a full name is so short sounding imo.
