Help[Opinions] Jennifer, Guinevere and Ginerva
"white phantom" is the meaning and I cannot tell you how much I LOVE that.
However, I can't say I like Guinevere (especially the nn Gwen) and while I do like Jennifer, I don't like the nn Jenny.
I like Ginerva a lot though especially the nn Ginny, but I prefer Jinora for that.
Does anybody happen to know a substitute for Jennifer other than... Conifer?? xD
Its okay if you don't, my real question here is if you like the meaning "white phantom" and if you like any of those related names.

I like Jennifer but I dislike Jennie and Jen (I hate Jen!). But it is so so overdone. In the US it was super common since the 60s, in the UK since the 40s I believe. And even though it peaked in the 80s I still know lots of Jennifers who were born up until the mid 2000s. It needs a break.
Guinevere is really cute! But I pronounce it GWINN-eh-veer so Gwen doesn't make sense as a nickname to me, because I pronounce that GWENN. Gwin would make more sense.
Do you mean Ginevra? Ginevra is cute. I dislike Ginerva. It makes me think of "nerves". Ginny is fine. Jinora looks weird to me.
Genevieve? I like Genevieve. Also: Gwyneth (but maybe not, because Paltrow), Gwendolen. Virginia, I guess (for Ginny). Juniper. Jenna. Jennica. Janine and Janina, possibly? Jana? Jonna. Joanna.

Gw- makes a sound I don't enjoy. I'm happy that Guinevere morphed into Jennifer. FWIW, I don't like the English pronunciation of Genevieve either, and it's hopeless giving a French name in an English-speaking country and expecting it to sound French.
Do you mean Ginerva? I've never seen it. Or is it a typo for Ginevra, like Ginny Weasley? I'm no fan of Ginny as a nn - my cousin would have called it 'alcofrolic' - give me Jenny any day. And Jen is brisker and better. For years I dithered between Jennifer and Jessica, but I've finally prioritised Jennifer.

Well, "white phantom" is an interesting meaning. I like it, it's mystical!
I love Jennifer. Yeah, it might sound too 80's, but still an awesome name, along with Jessica. I also like Jenifer, Yenifer and Jenna (if you don't like Jenny as a nn, try Jenna).
I like Arthurian legends, but I don't find the name Guinevere appealing.
I like Ginevra, but I wouldn't use it on a kid, because the Spanish form of this name is Ginebra and... Ginebra is the Spanish word for "gin" (yet there are more than 300 kids with this name in my country, strange).
