The way Ikea is pronounced normally in the USA actually does make it sound like a lot of names for girls that are popular today. I'm not surprised someone thought to use it -- but also not surprised this young woman legally changed it, as I am sure she has had to endure all sorts of rude comments about it.I have seen the name of the Colombian airline Avianca given to girls. I am sure there are other examples of names of stores or companies given to children -- certainly brand names like Chanel, Milani, Camry, Lexus, and Aigner have been given to many girls.
