I mostly dislike. It's just blah in my opinion. Winnie is cute for a kid or old lady, not so much for anyone between those two stages of life.

An old family friend of mine is named Honey. She and her husband first became friends with my parents when I was only 18 months old and I had only ever known her as such. She uses it on her Facebook account and everything. She's a retired teacher & all of the other staff referred to her as Honey as well. It wasn't until my 20s that I even found out her legal name was actually Diane hahaha. To answer your question: I like Winifred. I want it to come back. Winnie and Honey are a bit overpoweringly sweet (pardon the pun) but they have their place I think.

I don't like Honey as a given name but Hunny makes it seem like the greatest name on earth. Hunny is a joke, and a bad one. It would actually be cruel to give a child this name.

Winifred nn Winnie is nice and is a perfectly adequate nod to the books on its own. Honey is bad and Hunny is worse. You could always call her “honey” as a term of endearment.

Don't like it

Honey is pretty awful, but Hunny is a whole lot worse. AA Milne and Christopher Robin would turn in their graves. What about Christine, rather than Christopherette, or Robina, rather than Robin, for a change of rhythm?

Winifred is fine on it’s own, but Honey and especially Hunny is dreadful.
