It’s okay. I prefer Johnny over John or Jonathan.I just recently watched The Outsiders, so my first thought was Johnny Cade.My second thought was “Boy Meets World”, when Harley Keiner gave the nickname ‘Johnny Baboon’ to Cory.

Johnny Depp was my immediate thought - not a good association at the moment. Johnny sounds childish, but it’s a good nickname for John (an underused classic!).
