I personally like this name. I like the sound. It is visually pleasing, but I'm not sure if I could see it on a person of all ages.I like the spelling Maia over Maya, but I prefer Mayim.

I like it, it makes me think of the actress from the show "Blossom". Yes, I like the sound of it and I think it looks fine. I can see it on a child and an adult, nothing wrong with it. I pronounce it as my-em, by the way. I do however prefer Maia / Maya though.

Maybe some of you remember a teenybopper show called "Blossom"? The main actress was named Mayim Bialik (sp?). Anyway, the name reminds me of her. I don't really care for the sound of it. It also reminds me of Maxim and "mayhem", so doesn't really strike me as super feminine. I visualize it on a woman, but can't see it on a small child.Yes, I do prefer Maya. Or even Miriam, if wanting to stay closer to the sound of Mayim.

I was just about to post that Mayim Bialik is the only "Mayim" I've ever heard of. :b I prefer Maya/Maia, but Mayim is kind of nice as well.

I prefer Maya / Maia (Maya), but Mayim is really nice. I liked it a lot upon first seeing it, and it could still grow on me. I can definitely picture it on both a child and an adult.

Mayim is gorgeous. I recently came upon it and instantly put it on my long list. I like Maya and Maia equally well. I couldn't choose between them, sorry.
By the way, am I pronouncing it correctly? I say, "mah-EEM," almost a "mie-EEM" sound.

I'm not certain what the correct pronunciation is, but I tend to pronounce it as MIE-em.

When I saw your post, I thought it was a boys name, probably because if it's resemblance to Maxim. It looks ok, sounds ok. I pefer Maya. Mayim is still a bit weird to me.
