[Opinions] Lyla or Leila?
I like Leila as ly-la. It's the Arabic pronunciation and apparently also one of three English pronunciations.Would you find Leila (ly-la) weird or unusual? Would it be a burden?Would you rather spell it Lyla (I like this too).I've been thinking about Lila but then there's the lee-la/ly-la problem.

I’ve only ever heard Leila pronounced lay-la and my husband speaks Arabic and has an aunt named Layla. If you want the ly-la pronunciation, then Lyla is your safest bet.

I live in the US and I've only ever heard Leila pronounced like lay-la. My preference for ly-la is Lilah. It looks the most versatile and easier to mature into.
I think Lyla leans more young and trendy, but Lilah could fit any age. I agree Lila would be annoying with the lee-la/ly-la problem. Another option might be Laila-- that one could grow on me, but I still prefer Lilah at the moment. (plus even though Laila looks more like ly-la than Leila does, it can also be pronounced lay-la).

I don't like Lyla, I'd prounouce Leila as lay la, Lila I've heard prounouce prounouce as lil a, I don't like the ly la pronunciation eg lieLiela is a nicer spelling but lie is obvious too

It would be unusual in my language as LY-la because it would be either written as Laila or Layla and LAY-la would be Leila or Leyla, which I find annoying because my favorite spelling is Layla and the pronunciation I like best (LAY-la) doesn't match Spanish spelling. :/
However, it would be completely fine in English since Leilani is pronounced the same way.Lyla is a spelling I don't find bad, but I prefer the more traditional ones, my favorite being Layla as I said before, due to the song by Eric Clapton (I know it was originally released by Derek and the Dominos, but I prefer Eric's version).I also like Lila, however I pronounce it LEE-la because it coincides with the Spanish word for the lilac flower and color. Lilah would be more intuitive as a variant of Leila.
