Do you like the name (Just name not nn) Ellie or Eleanor better?? I know one of each, so they are out there.

I always prefer the long form to the nn form as an independent name.Eleanor can become Ellie if she likes, but Ellie is stuck with it.

I prefer Eleanor to Ellie, solely based on its sound; Eleanor sounds so melodic to me. I also prefer the similar-sounding Allie to Ellie (as a first name, not a nickname).

I definitely prefer just Ellie. Eleanor has a sound that I don’t like.

Eleanor; Ellie is too cutesy.

Eleanor definitely, it’s more classic and versatile and you can get the nn Ellie!

I respect Ellie, coming from a family that sometimes gives diminutives as full names (I have great-great grandmothers named Lillie and Lottie). But since I'm so greedy, I'd pick Eleanor, because that way you can have BOTH. Eleanor gives more options

Eleanor. Ellie is too juvenile for me, even as a nickname.

Eleanor. But I prefer Eleanora over that. I don't see the point in naming a child a nickname. And Ellie is annoying, I'd go with Nora or Nell etc.

Don't like either although Ellie is an ok nn

I think Ellie is too cutesy to be a first name. Elle is better.I love Eleanor nn Ellie tho!
