[Facts] Thanks for the new April 23 2024 Update but I have a problem...
I appreciate your effort to update the site but I have a problem...The name Ayana has just been submitted in the Behind the Name database in the newest April update as a Masculine Ethiopian name...Why... just why on earth is Ayana a Masculine Ethiopian name in this site? In the very least Ayana should be an Ethiopian Feminine name or even a Unisex name for that matter.
I've done some light research and nothing... just very little leads to Ayana being a Masculine Ethiopian name...

Doing a Linkedin search for the first name Ayana in Ethiopia, and looking through the first 10 pages of results, I only found one bearer that was identifiably female. The rest (50+) were male.

Yes, it's best to look for real world bearers when sites such as forebears can seemingly be inaccurate.

Although I would agree that this should perhaps be marked "unisex" instead of just "Masculine", one can certainly find examples on the Web of Ethiopian men named Ayana:https://www.linkedin.com/in/ayana-zewdie-workneh-bba12a170/?originalSubdomain=hkhttps://scholar.google.com/citations?user=TF3Q8igAAAAJ&hl=enAnd the great majority of instances of Ayana in Ethiopia on Google seem to be of its use as a surname, not a given name.
