I'm glad to see most of these names gone. The only ones I'm sad to see leave are these ones: Alaric (Wasn't this one recently trending??)
Brennan
Canaan (GP)
Larry (Not surprising. Been expecting it to drop for a number of years now. However, it's also the name of my favorite uncle who died a decade back so I'll always have a soft spot for it. 🙂)Thrilled to see Braden gone. Yes! The less of these Aidan/Aiden rhyming names on the charts the better. Same goes for any -lee or -leigh spellings, which most seem to be dropping like flies. 😊 Also Madisyn. Hate the name altogether and the spelling makes it worse.

I don't like Terry, Larry, or Rodney. I don't mind seeing them replaced. Wallace and Cedric didn't seem interesting to parents anymore, I guess. New vintage names have entered the fray. I wouldn't have expected Hollis but I'm not shocked, either. However, I'm a bit surprised by Bronson and Brennan falling off because they match the vibe, sound and surname trend of many other names up there. Maxton might have fallen because it sounds more invented than the others, "Max" being a familiar enough name that anything after it other than "well" or "imilian(o)" seems like too much. I'm so glad Heath dropped. I can finally use it. :DI'm disappointed about Joyce leaving but its whatever. Other than that, the list has a pattern that I can recognize. Seraphina deserves the spotlight, its beautiful. Winifred is beloved by many and was bound to be revived. I just don't know how long it will last. Etta and Hattie surprised me years ago, but not so much Archie. The royal baby and all.I want to see Betty up there one day. I like it way more than Winifred and Whitney - although I'm actually glad to see Whitney.

Not sad to see Tinsley go, hopefully it stays that way 😈Semaj is baffling, but I guess it shouldn't be with the likes of Nevaeh still up there in the charts...

Yes, but at least it left the top 100. Finally. 👏🏻🎉
I hope Tinsley stays away too. It's terrible

I’m surprised Jada and Jayda are gone. I guess I haven’t been tracking them, but I thought they were still reasonably popular. Gary, Larry, and Terry are gone too. I guess people are sick of these rhyming Baby Boomer names. LOL

Speaking of which, those were actually the names of my aunts & uncles on my mother's side. All of them besides my mom and her twin had names like Harry, Larry, Barry, Terry, Gary, Sherry etc. 13 kids and grandmother was in a rhyming spree. 😅
I guess people have just moved on to other names.

Thanks for the data!Would it be okay if I used this for a Sporcle quiz with credit? I was planning to gather the data myself, but since you already gathered it...

Yes, I'm ok with that :)

Clare is my preferred spelling of Claire and a name that I've admired for a while, and Winifred is a long-time love. I'm also fond of Adhara, Lilia, Violette, Abner, Boaz, Carl, and Lucien. I suspect "-ettie" (and maybe "-etta") names will join the list in the next few years.

I like Jesiah, Clare but prefer Claire, Carl Also Guinevere, Paola, Rebekah, Heath

Wow, Elsa left? I'm amazed. I guess Frozen really was the only reason it was popular for a while again.
vote up5
No doubt.

Actually, it seems like Frozen killed the name. It was steadily rising in popularity long before Frozen came out, then all of a sudden plummeted after its release. This is the first year Elsa has ever not been in the top 1000.

Maybe people didn't use it due to the Frozen association
vote up3
Maybe because of the second movie, but it definitely got a huge bump in popularity in 2014 because of the first one!
