Apperently it goes like this for the Dutch version of Komen:
Koopman > Kooman > Koomen > Komen
Koopman means 'trader, someone who buys, merchant' Koop = Buy, Man = Man. Which makes it the Dutch equivalent of the German surname Kaufmann.
Sometimes Koopman can come from Jacob (> Jakob > Koop (ending -b is pronounced as a -p, so there's no difference in sound between Koop and Koob) + addition of -man to make it a pet form. Though the version with the 'trader' meaning happened more often.
Pronounced would be: KOH:-mən
