I'd never use a name with religious connotations, but at gunpoint I'd rather use or encounter Eve; then Eva; then maybe Evangeline.
Evangelia could shorten to Jill as well as the obvious Eve/Eva; that would help.
My mother had a school friend named Evangeline who, she said, was always called Vangie (VANjee). Not good at all.
