Oh, I see. I think you're overthinking it a bit. There are plenty of people whose first name doesn't match the origin of their last name (myself included), especially in the US. What matters is how well they sound together.
For example I wouldn't pair Gennady with Johnson, but Gennady Hargrove doesn't sound half bad.

It might possibly sound strange or humorous if you have someone named Ilya McGillicuddy or something like that, but it actually doesn't matter that much in real life.
