[Opinions] Callista
As for my last post, excuse me for going by what I am told...thats the only way I know.
Anyway...I really like Callan, but figured it didnt sound right. I did see Callie highlighted however, and clicked on it and found out it was used to shorted Callista. I wasnt positive I liked it, and now I am still not certain, but I think its growing on me the more I saw it. What do you guys think? I would still stick with Callie as a nn, I really like that name. According to this site, it is the feminine form of Callistus which means "most beautiful". What would be a good combo?Callista Aspen
Callista Marlys
Callista Raine
Callista HazelSuggestions?Would it sound okay with Linus William and Kasper James and possibly Raine (if not used as a middle name of course).

I like Callista Aspen or Callista Hazel. It sounds fine with the other two names. ANd I've already said this a billion times, but I just love Kasper James!!!

One of my favorites!I met a Callista once in junior high, and she was the sweetest girl! She was also very pretty with long brown hair down to her bottom. Ever since then, this name has been a fave of mine.I think Callista Raine sounds nice. I also like Callista Hazel. I have Callista Joy on my list. :)*reyanna*p.s. It sounds nice with your other names. I love Kasper. That's also a fave. :)

You're excused, as far as I'm concerned.
In a large portion of cases the etymology and history of names is based on guesswork anyway, and you just have to look for the most believeable story, if you really do care.Callista I like. Unfortunately it reminds me of the intensely annoying actress Calista Flockhart.. but if I met a different girl/woman with the name, I think I'd still like it.Roman Callistus comes from Greek kallistos, so you can spell it with a K too. Or put an O at the end. I like all the forms:
Callista
Callisto
Kallista
Kallisto
But Callista sounds the most approachable and nicks to the wonderful Callie.Callista Marlys is great. You lucked out - Marlys makes such a nice mn for a lot of names.
Callista Aspen - the consecutive A's aren't the best, but it's not a big deal. The name is very non traditional sounding to me (in a good, not outspoken way) or even pagan sounding, if you like that - since it's influenced by ancient myth and by nature.
Callista Raine - very pretty! Similar non-traditional/modern values aspect.
Callista Hazel - not great flow because it makes you say -a Ha-, but again, not that big of a deal if you love it. Also nicely 'pagan' sounding.Callista (Callie) Raine is the best, imo.
edited to add - Callista's not the best match with Linus and Kasper (it goes a shade better with Creighton imo).. but it doesn't misfit with them either. - chazda
