Edward
Lately i've been thinking about the name Edward. I've been debating whether its completely usable without a nickname. I love the old charm it has and it really is very masculine to me. It fits in with my other names well but I don't like any of the nn. What do you think?

I've been loving Edward lately, also. I don't like Ed or Eddie and wouldn't use a nickname. I don't think nicknames are unavoidable.

It's one of my top names, and I also hate all the nicknames. I think if you just continuously call him Edward and none of the nicknames, it probably won't be a problem. I've known a few people who have obvious nicknames and don't use them.

I love Edward and love the nn Ned (very Nancy Drew, to me) but dislike Ed, Eddie & Ted. He's my second favorite name, ever and will be used if I have a boy (and #1 doesn't fit).

Sorry, but I really don't like Edward, very dated and dandy-sh to me.

I love Edward. I've had good feelings about a son named Ed lately, though I'd probably go with Edmund.

I think an Edward is bound to get called Ed or Eddie for short, unless you made it very well known that you didn't want any nn's used. I think it would be better for a mn.

I absolutely love this name, and will definitely use it for my son.As for the nicknames, I think Edward can run perfectly fine without them. You can't stop what his future friends will call him, but I prefer Edward without the nicknames Ed or Eddie or Ned.
