Marlene.
I'm curious as to overall opinions. Just say whatever you think, as I'm not sure what I think of it. It follows my normal tastes - I love feminine M names (Margaret, Miriam, Magdalene, Mirella, Mara....) and it's slightly dated. I'm not sure what I would use as a middle name. And another question: What do you think of Marie Magdalene? IT was Marlene Deitrich's full name.

This is the middle name of my great Aunt Donna. She goes by Marlene.

I like it, but pronounced the way I want to hear it-- mar LEH na. I slightly prefer Marlena for pronunciation's sake, but either way I like the name.

I love Marlena (pronounced Mar-LAY-na) or Marla. Marlene doesn't sound as attractive to me, but I do like it, too!

Marlene Dietrich's full name was Maria Magdalena, not Marie. At least as far as I know. Her daughter was named Maria as well. I like Marlene and Magdalene. Maria and Marie as well. but not Maria and Magdalene together. Makes me think of Mary Magdalene and it is a bit much. I dislike Magdalena.

Marlene seems very.. Southern US. Like Arlene and Lurleen etc.Marie Magdalene is too much like Mary Magdelene. Miriam/Mara Magdalena would be a little better.

I like it, though I'm not sure I'd use it. The Deitrich reference is a great one. Marie Magdalene is a bit long, she'd probably end up using Magdalene only.
