Aubrey and Audrey

I knew a female Aubrey long before I ever really got acquainted with the name Audrey. I didn't know Aubrey was masculine until I got older, which made me like it much less for both sexes. I dislike Aubrey now, but I love Audrey which grew on me probably because of Audrey Hepburn and Audrey Tautou. I think Audrey is sweet, elegant, and a nice classic.
Audrey
I don't like either one of them because I hate the initial AWWW sound. It really gets on my nerves. I had an acquaintance once named Aubrey. I wasn't that good friends with her, but she and I had a mutual good friend. So I frequently had to hear the mutual friend utter the name "Aubrey" and every time she did, it just grated on my ears.
Agreed
Although I dislike Audrey far more than Aubrey. I see no elegance in either.

I think Audrey has dark and alluring feeling, which is quite pleasant, and I think the nn Audie is adorable.
I think Aubrey is a handsome name. It feels rather medieval. In an earlier post I described the guy it made me think of as "gentle and soft-spoken with blond hair and bright blue eyes and mad skills with a sword." :)

I love Audrey!
