Marie
A good friend of mine loves old man and lady names - maybe even more than me. She loves the classics like Betty and Johnny, while I like things that are a little more edgy. Anyways, she got me thinking about the name Marie. She loves it, and suggested Marie when I told her about how I liked Marian, which she disliked. At first I wasn't sure - there are so many Maries in my family tree that I started thinking of it as a dull name. But, slowly but surely, it has been growing on me. there hasn't been another Marie in my family for three generations at least, so maybe it would be fresh and vintage.Anyways, what are your opinions on Marie? Boring or ripe for revival?

I like the name Marie. I think it is much better as a first name rather than as a middle name.

I like it, but prefer Marian / Marion.

I think I would swoon to meet a little Marie! (One who had it as a first name, not a middle!)

My boyfriend's 6 year old niece is named Marie, I really like it.

I like Marie better than Marian. Marian you picture and old lady with, and its a little harsh. Marie is a refreshing no-ager.

I think it's pretty but a little overused as a MN.

Definitely prefer Marian to Marie. Marie and Maria have never done anything for me. I certainly wouldn't mind meeting a little Marie, I just don't find it swoon worthy or anything.

I think it is fine personally, but I prefer Marian.

If she likes classics, why wouldn't she like Marian?Anyway, I like Marian better, but Marie is nice enough. I don't like seeing it in the mn slot. I don't know any young Maries, but I know a 7 year old Maria.

I'm not sure why she wasn't crazy about Marian. She didn't hate it, but she said "it's just ok. Not one of my favorites". It surprised me too.

Marie is a beautiful, classic name. And if you prefer an edgier note, then, here's always a middle name spot.
