ElisabethElisabeth for sure. It's softer without the z.

The z helps English speakers to pronounce it and by the same token makes it confusing for German speakers. So, it depends on where you are.

ElisabethI like both spellings, but Elisabeth looks more attractive to me.

Elizabeth
...because I like all the nn possibilities and I prefer the Z sound slightly more than the S one.

It depends on the nn I'd use. With Elisabeth: Elsa, Elisa, Elise, Liese, Lisette. With Elizabeth: Ellie, Betsy, Bess, Libby, Lily, Beth. Now if I were going to call her by the full name, I'd use Elisabeth because I find it more attractive.

ElizabethBy a lot. But Elisabeth is still pretty, I just far prefer Elizabeth, it's been a favorite of mine for awhile.

I like them both, but if I had to pick, I'd say Elizabeth because you can use the nicknames Liz and Lizzy. I do like Elisabeth nn Elsa, though.

ElisabethIt looks nicer written down and it softens the name a bit IMO.

Elizabeth. There is a mean popular girl at my school named Elisabeth, so that's totally ruined the "s" spelling for me/:

Depends......on how you pronounce it. I like both but to me Elizabeth is the English form which should be pronounced i-LIZ-ə-bəth and Elisabeth is German/Dutch/Skandinavian and should be pronounced like that: e-LEE-zah-bet.

ElisabethI used to be firmly Elizabeth, but Elisabeth just looks so much softer and gentler to me now. It also has family significance, as my great-grandmother was named Elisabetta, which was anglicized to Elisabeth and passed on to my aunt.

ElizabethBeing my name, and being the very aristocratic-looking English form, I strongly prefer it to Elisabeth, which is fine if you are German or French. Besides...I hate nicknames like Elise or Lisa, which you can get from Elisabeth but not necessarily from Elizabeth.

ElisabethThe Z makes Elizabeth look harsh. Elisabeth is soft.

ElizabethI dislike Elisabeth. It looks off and makes me want to pronounce it with Lisa in the middle-- and I hate Lisa.

Although I feel Elizabeth is more traditional, Elisabeth seems much softer and eloquent and classic.xxx

Elisabeth! It's the spelling I'm more used to and I usually dislike names which are spelled with a Z instead of a S.

ElisabethI dislike the name in general, but the spelling Elisabeth looks much nicer, imo.

My feelings exactly.

I like Elisabeth better in theory- it's softer and less modern-looking, but in real life I would probably use Elizabeth.
