Edna, Barbara & Gwen
All three of these names have been on my mind lately and I'm curious to see what you guys think of them.

Edna does not sound even slightly attractive to me (and I associate it with a pleasant but very talkative aunt).Barbara is one that I really enjoy and would like to see again. Aren't the 50s long enough ago yet?Gwen just by itself? Nope. And I have got issues with Gwendolen and Gwyneth which are personal but powerful, so I'll have to pass on that one.

Love the name Gwen. I like the name Edna but wouldn´t use it my self and as for the name barbra I know loads of people in their mid 80´s named that but that said it is kind of pritty in it´s own way.

Edna, Barbara, and Gwen spent the lazy afternoon in the warm sunshine on the porch at Henrietta's, sipping lemonade, crocheting, and musing about the goings-on of their neighbours. :o)
I don't mind any of the names if they are on someone's grandmother or great-aunt. I might be able to imagine Gwen on a little girl, but that's it for me.

Edna: I had a German great-grandmother named Edna. When I knew her, she was completely senile, and yelled at the TV all day. Whenever I hear this name, I think of her.Barbara: Not one of my favorites. I just don't like the 'barb' sound; it reminds me of barbecue, or barbed wire.Gwen: I love Gwen, but I think it should be a NN for Gwendolen, or maybe Gwyneth. It's lively and fun.

Barbara!I'm a BIG fan of Barbara! I'm going to name my first daughter Barbara to honor my grandmother. The name was never very popular here and it's not seen as dated as it is in the US. And our pronunciation is softer and I prefer that. Edna I don't like (I do like Ena), and Gwen is ok as a nickname for Gwendolen/ Gwendolyn, etc.

Somehow I can't like Barbara.
I like Edna, I had an aunt named that.Seems it's a Biblical name, though I don't know the reference. Gwen is great! Just Gwen is fine, also Gweneth..one of my daughters's friends is named that.

I don't like any of them. Edna is terminally ugly old lady to me. Barbara was a popular name in my generation, and I knew several, but it's one of my most hated names ever. It's very harsh, and I don't like two syllables starting with the same letter. I dislike Gwen less than Edna or Barbara, but it's just not that appealing.

Adore Gwen! Reminds me of Miss Stefani and a doll my sister has

Gwen is the only one I like of the three. I prefer it as a nickname for Gwendolen.
