Julie
I haven't put much thought into the name Julie in the past, but it's been growing on me lately. My only problem is that some people might find it dated. I'd probably pair it with a more unusual MN to make up for it.What do you think of the name Julie? Is it too dated?

My name is Julie. I love it. I loved it as a kid and I love it now in my 30's. It is sort of a sweet, spunky name. My name was somewhat common growing up, but not as common as Melissa/Jessica/Jenifer etc... I had 3 other Julie's in my graduating class of 1,000.I also agree with Bear... Julie has had surges in popularity over the decades. The 70/80's was one of those surges, but there are a lot of Julie's from around the turn of the century too.

I like Julie and I don't think it's a dated name. It's simple, but very pretty name.

I think Julie is a little bit dated. My Mum has about 5 friends called Julie, all in their 40s. Therefore, I prefer Juliet or Julia which I think are a bit more exciting and different, and you could always use Julie as a nickname. An unusual middle name is also quite a good idea.

I love Julie. I think it's a very sweet nurturing but young sort of name. I don't find it terribly dated, but the only Julie I've ever met is my grandmothers dog so I would take my analysis of that with a grain of salt. (this is the only reason I haven't brought it up with DBF)

I think it's dated and quite unappealing. When I was a child, I always wished that this was my name. Now I loathe it. I much prefer Juliana.

I freaking LOVE the name Julie. It's one of the names of my generation that I actually like a whole lot (I also really like Lisa, but that's a whole other thing). I don't think Julie sounds too dated, but then I'm biased because I like it.

It's really dated, but it could work. I dislike it, but matching it up with a sparkly middle name might work

Unless the bearer is French, Julie has always seemed to me more like a nickname for Julia or Juliet than a full name.

I don't know about other people but I don't think it's dated. I find it quite pretty actually.

Julie is an ok name. It is a little dated but more of a classic to me. I just find it a bit boring as it was a popular name when I was in high school.

Julie is my favorite form of the Giulia / Julia names. I find it spunky, classic and vibrant. I ran across the name "Miss Julie" once. I think it's a character in a 19th century play. I loved that something I associated only with the 20th century could be so versatile. So don't apologize for Miss Julie one bit. She's doing just fine. I don't think you need a more unusual mn to make up for anything. Are you looking for mns to go with it?
