I think Amalia is lovely. I do personally prefer it to Emilia.

I like Amalia. However, Amelia is getting really popular and people might think Amalia is Amelia. I like Emilia slightly more than Amalia, because this confusion is less likely.

I love it and would really like to use it in the future. I also much prefer it to Emilia.

I like it. I know someone with daughter named Amalia. It is pronounced like Amelia.

It's beautiful. I prefer it to Emilia, but Emilia is lovely too.

I've never liked Amalia it always sounded like some sort of a disease to me. I much prefer Emilia.

I prefer Emilia and even Amelia. The "mal" sound is too pronounced for my tastes, sorry.

The "mal" root means Unlucky. That's what I hear when I listen to this name. For some reason the world mammalia comes to mind as well.
I prefer Emilia or Amelia. (What about Amelie?)

I think Amalia is baroque and decadent -- I really like it, and I prefer it to Emilia (though I prefer Emilia to Amelia).

Funny, I was just about to post "Opinions on AMELIA"...I'm not in love with Amalia, but I think it's okay. I love the name Amelia though, it's beautiful. Amalia is a very nice name, but not one of my favourites.

I don't really like the "mal" sound in there. It seems unhappy.Amelia is much better.
