Esther or Hester?
Esther has been popping up so much recently that it's making me think of it again. I've always had a tough time choosing between Esther and Hester. Which do you like more and why?

I much prefer Hester, though not enough to use it.Esther sounds like some chemical, or a body fluid.

Esther definitely! There's just something about the sound of Hester that I don't like.

Esther as a first name, Hester as a middle. I don't know why precisely... I like Hester, just not enough as a given name. In the middle I can appreciate her much more.

Esther's nice and classy... Move the h to the beginning and it sounds kinda ugly imo... like someone dropped the c from Chester and dropped it on a girl. Very few western H names have much appeal to me. (note I said very few and not none)

Hester!Cool namesake, and I like the sound. It's easier to say Hester than Esther... it's smoother or something, while there's a bit of a catch at the beginning of Esther.

Definitely Esther.I don't know why though! Maybe because Hester sounds more like a boys name for some reason... or because Hester makes me think of hessian.

Esther. The H in Hester gives it a harsh quality, IMO.

Really dislike Hester, it reminds me of the plant hosta.
