reason I ask is...because I am currently enamored with, nay, distracted by it.I want to have two sons named Jasper and Felix.I know you approve whole-heartedly, Emma. No Milo, however.

No. I (strongly) dislike it, but it wouldn't be quite right to say I'm tired of it. I never see it IRL, and I must have it on some sort of mental "ignore" list because I rarely notice it online.

I've never been a huge fan of Jasper, but it's okay. I see it on the boards far more often than in real life. I've never actually met a Jasper.

NO! He makes me tired, but I'm certainly not tired of him! ;P Obviously I love the name, as it's my DS's name. It's been my fave male name for years, that's why we used it.

It's never been a favorite and I don't really think about it, so no.

No. It seems like I saw it more often on this board five years ago, than I do now, so it seems a little passe. But IRL I almost never see it. It's getting more popular for babies, right? I dunno, I don't think I'd tire of it as fast as I have of Ethan and Mason... even though Jasper isn't really my style.

Honestly...I've never met anyone with the name Jasper. So I'm not tired of it.

I never liked Jasper, so I can't be tired of it. It's always sucked ass, IMHO.

^ This exactly

Not at all. Other than our cat, I've never known anyone named Jasper. Bring it on!

I would. I haven't met one in real life, but it gets a lot of attention on name sites and is very hipster-ish. On the one hand, I don't think it's very attractive, so I wish it would die down, but on the other hand, if they let this name go they'll just pick something else, and they're leaving most of my favorite names alone.

Agree with this. I don't really like Jasper so I don't really get why people talk about it so much, but I guess it's better than a lot of other names?

Not really. I've only seen it once in a real life (a middle name a classmate was embarrassed to have! He wouldn't tell anyone what it was and I guessed it. Damani Jasper) and really don't hear about it much. It's sort of board popular, but not that board popular-- it receives an average of 2.5 mentions a month in the top 10 posts [in 2012 alone, and overall from 2008-2011].
[To compare, Henry, the number 1 name of all time, gets 5.3 mentions a month, roughly].

Nyet...but...Seriously? I love Jasper. I've always liked it, and I don't care about the trend. I wanted to use it before the trend and I'll want to use it long after. It's a nice name. But I do fawn over other -r ending male names a lot more - Oscar and Balthazar are a little more fun in my view. Even Caspar is a little more fresh. Oh, and Edgar! I really love Jasper, but I think it'd place in the middle of my list of favourite -r male names...

1996That's when I started loving Jasper, I think. Because of "Road to Avonlea". Sigh. I was 13. So I guess, I probably loved it before it got popular-ish. When that happens, I tend to keep loving the name and just resign myself to the fact that it's a love-but-not-use name. That said, I've actually never met a Jasper, so there's another reason I'm not tired of it!

Nah...Definitely not. It's one of my very fave names. :)Besides that, it's the name of my brother-in-law, so maybe that has something to do with it... xD

Eh. The only one I know in real life is my husband's best friend. But because of him I've heard it a lot, plus I hear it on the internet with some frequency, so while I wouldn't say I'm "tired" of it, it's also certainly not exciting.

I never really liked it to begin with, and I've never met anyone with the name so I don't feel like I am entitled to be "tired" of it.

HardlyI don't know anyone called Jasper. While, yes, it is annoying when name nerds obsess over one name, I don't get that feeling with Jasper.

I haven't seen it irl enough for that. But it's not a favourite.

I only know one, a litte child.
But I don't much like the name, it's all National Park to me.

Well, since I never met a Jasper in real life, it's hard to say I'm tired of it. But I am tired of hearing it fawned over on name boards. It's a very name-board-trendy and Hollywood-trendy name right now.

No, I'm not tired of Jasper.
I've only met one in my life, but Jasper is more unusual here than in the US. I quite like Jasper actually. He seems like a funny and friendly guy.
