Alexa & Aimee
I know they're kind of trendy, but they're growing on me. I like this spelling of Aimee more and more, but feel free to hate it and be brutal in your critique. So, WDYT?

I don't like the spelling of Aimee, as I feel it's unnecessarily complicated. Everyone would want to spell it Amy, and what's wrong with Amy?Alexa is cute but I prefer it as a nickname for Alexandra.

My brain pronounces Aimee as e-MAY, so I can't like it as an alternate spelling of Amy. I think Alexia is much nicer than Alexa.

Alexa has never ever appealed to me. I think it's really low class, and stripper-ish. I do love Alexandra though, I would use the nickname Ally for it.
I went to school with about four Amys and one Aimee, the name feels really old and overused to me. Recently though I met a little five year old called Ami, I think I like this spelling over all others, though not many people would probably recognise it being Japanese.

Aimee is unnecessarily complicated. Way too many letters to express two simple syllables. Also, as you have likely realised, it will get misspelled all the time, which is no fun. Alexa has always been sort of appealing to me for some reason. It sounds a tiny bit snobby, and the only Alexa I've ever known wasn't the most pleasant person on the planet, but it's still kind of cool. I kind of like Alexis (and even Lexus) too. There's something about that "lex" sound that I like.

I don't like either one. Alexis is really the only Alex girls' name I can say I truly like. Alexa seems weak and stuck-up at the same time. Aimee isn't trendy, maybe it was back in 1980 or thereabouts. Amy is a boring, pale, plain name and Aimee is boring, pale and plain with French pretentions.

I hate Alexa. All the kids named Alexa i've ever taught have been really precious princess kids. Aimee is ok, but i'd really just spell it Amy. Aimee would have to be spelt out every time!

I used to love Aimee because this was the name of one of my best friends from middle school, but I think I actually like little Amy more. I think because, although Aimee is a legit name, the -ee ending reminds me of trendy spellings (Ashlee, Aubree, etc.). Do you pronounce Aimee the same as Amy? My friend did, and that's how I generally think of it being pronounced, but I've heard AH-may as well.Alexa is not horrid, but it's never done anything for me. I seems like one of those names that tries hard to be upper class, but maybe should just accept it's place as solidly middle class. Stop trying to be upwardly mobile, Alexa!

When I was about..hmm..12, I wanted to change my name to Nicole Anna Aimee. I still kinda like Aimee, but not enough to ever use it. I do like it way more than Amy though. Alexa is alright. Not sure if I prefer it on it's own or as a nickname for Alexandra/Alexandria.
