WDYT of these Persian names....
My boss' sister and her Persian husband had daughter #2 a few weeks ago. Their girls names are Parisa (Pa-REE-sa) and Elika (pronounced like Erika). WDYT? I like both of them!

I don't really understand the pronunciation of Elika. It sounds just like Erica? Or kind of rhymes, but the L is said. If it's like ELLE-ih-kah, then I like it.Parisa is ok... not sure what I think on that one.

Very pretty especially the name Parisa.

Parisa is nice. Better than Paris, but still brings Paris Hilton to mind, unfortunately. As for Elika, I have no idea how it could be pronounced like ERica when it doesn't contain an "R" but an "L". (That's like saying, 'My name is spelled M-A-R-Y but I pronounced it like Molly.' Huh?!) So, no, I don't like it. :-/~Heather~

Hmmm, it's pronounced liked Erika in that the emphasis is put on the middle of the name. Er-I-ka so Elika would be El-I-ka. It's pronounced like Erika but there's an L instead of the R -- Erika/Elika. Does that help? I didn't think it would be that difficult! No offense to anyone!

I NOW understand what you mean. You just didn't phrase it very well the first time, imo. But I still don't like the name. LOL. BTW, I don't emphasize the middle syllable of Erica. I've always heard it as AIR-ih-kah, not air-IH-kah. ~Heather~
