Ziya or Zia?
For a boy.Zia has been on my list for years but I've grown to really like the Ziya spelling as well. So which spelling do you prefer?
My combo is Mordecai Zia Storm / Mordecai Ziya Storm, if that affects you at all.
(i am only asking about spelling, thank you.)
"than you will go to jail for kidnap."

Hmm, tough one... They both look good in there.I think, in the end, I'd vote for Ziya. It might help other people get over how "feminine" it looks because it's less Mia-like and looks a touch more ethnically influenced.

I prefer Ziya for a boy. I see Zija and Zijad used for men here sometimes, Zia is usually only feminine.

To everyone saying "it's too feminine"My favorite boy's name is Ashley. I don't care! Soft sounding boys names are my style.
And to everyone suggesting slightly more masculine names: Thanks but I really was just asking about the spelling. I like this name thank you!

I'm guessing it's pronounced ZYE-ah, right? I think I like Ziya better. Zia looks more feminine because it reminds me of Mia. Do you like Azaziah or Amaziah too? Those would be cool options if you wanted a longer name.Mordecai Ziya Storm is pretty gutsy. I kinda like it!

I'm pronouncing it ZEE-ah, rhyming with Mia.
I keep Azaziah on my list but I don't know if I really love it enough to use.

Is it pronounced ZYE-ah?I pick Zia because it looks more masculine. For some reason, a 'y' in a name always makes it more feminine.

It's pronounced ZEE-ah.

Then I would still go with Zia. It just looks better, IMO.

I would use Ziya...it looks more boyish than Zia to me.

It looks very feminine. Ziya is pretty for a girl; I definitely can't see it on a boy.Ziyad maybe?

I would pronounce Zia "Zee-ah" and Ziya "Z-eye-ah", and so see them as different names but I love them both, though I prefer the clean look of Zia. I'd name my daughter this. Ziya seems more musculine than Zia. What about Zaid/Zayd? http://www.behindthename.com/name/zayd

Zayd is too similar to Zayn, which is already on my list and used in a different combo. Thanks though.

Zia but I think it looks more feminineHow about Mordecai Zion Storm?

While I like the sound of Zion, it feels very religious to me and if I were to have a child, both of his parents would be atheists, so no thank you. Also Zia / Ziya sounds better in the combo when the last name (which starts with S and ends with -on) is added; Zion creates too many repeating sounds imo.

Zia.It's less trendy and more masculine. There's actually a Swedish singer named Oscar Zia :)
