Re: New puppy name! + edit
in reply to a message by Bear
My daughter recently got an 8-year-old female dog, (also a hunting dog, though she doesn't plan to hunt with her). She came with a long kennel name, including the word "Run", so they call her Run. We're all use to it now. I like Scout, Clover, Freya.

Run sounds like a command to me. And saying "Come, Run" is a little funny. However, Run made me think of Sprint, which is the name of my husband's boat. He liked that, except my son cannot say Sprint, sounds more like sint. But he can say "Ovis puppy dog." We are bringing the dog home this afternoon so still have a bit of time to decide.

Oh, it is kind of strange! But the dog accepts it as her name, and will run anywhere, any time, along with her new house-sibling, daughter's first dog, now age 4, that she raised from a puppy. Ovis is fine, if that's what you choose.Let us know!
